I was born in Sep 1954. In the early 1970s I had a relationship with someone I met and dated. His name was Mitch. He worked at Delfino’s Mens Wear on Bank Street in Ottawa. I don’t know his last name. I quickly became pregnant but he was distant about the prospect. I didn’t see him during that time.
A few months after her birth I saw Mitch in a shoe store along with his wife! That’s why he never told me his name I guess.
My name at the time she was born was Carol Forget.
Place of birth of my daughter: Grace Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario
I have a copy of her delivery record from Grace Hospital which reads she was born at 3:40 am on the 29 of June 1974 signed by a Dr.Burgess and I also have a copy of the labour record.
I had her live in with me for 5 days during my stay at the Grace Hospital. No name was given to her. The birth record reads: baby girl Forget
My then friend Therese Lessieurs helped me with the adoption and she knew the couple who was adopting her. I wrote a small promise note saying that I would not try and find her or take her away. I signed and dated the letter 2nd July 1974. I never signed any legal documents or adoption papers.
If anyone reading this can throw light on her whereabouts I would be so happy
I greatly appreciate Long Lost Famiies kind assistance with this delicate matter in finding my dear and precious daughter. Sincerely. Mrs Carol Gagnon

Dear Long Lost Families
One of Therese’s daughters contacted me earlier today.
She knew my daughter and the parents who adopted her.
They were Therese’s brother Raymond and his wife Carol
Unfortunately my daughter passed away on June 2 2012 at the age of 37 years old due to intestinal cancer.
So my dear friend you can now sadly close my search file.
From the bottom of my heart thank you so very much for your kind assistance in my search.
Claudette said she has pictures of my daughter and she has 3 children. So I’m a grandmother once again. I already have 4 grandchildren!
Sincerely Mrs. Carol Gagnon
Long Lost Families and all those who perticipated and were interested in Carol’s search pass on our condolences from the bottom of our hearts to you, your daughter and your respective families The very best of luck meeting your grandchildren.
We asked how her video call went.
Hi Ray. So nice to hear from you. Very well. Lots of crying and laughing. The girls had been searching for me for over 10 years? We are having another video call this afternoon. It is amazing how much we have in common! They were so happy when they saw my story on Facebook. Long Lost Families is an awesome organization.
Take care. All the very best to you and your team. Carol.
