THE SEARCH FOR MY DAUGHTER By Carol Gagnon
I was born in Sep 1954. In the early 1970s I had a relationship with someone I met and dated. His name was Mitch. He worked at Delfino’s Mens Wear on Bank Street in Ottawa. I don’t know his last name. I quickly became pregnant but he was distant about the prospect. I didn’t see him during that time.
A few months after her birth I saw Mitch in a shoe store along with his wife! That’s why he never told me his name I guess.
My name at the time she was born was Carol Forget.
Place of birth of my daughter: Grace Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario
I have a copy of her delivery record from Grace Hospital which reads she was born at 3:40 am on the 29 of June 1974 signed by a Dr.Burgess and I also have a copy of the labour record.
I had her live in with me for 5 days during my stay at the Grace Hospital. No name was given to her. The birth record reads: baby girl Forget
My then friend Therese Lessieurs helped me with the adoption and she knew the couple who was adopting her. I wrote a small promise note saying that I would not try and find her or take her away. I signed and dated the letter 2nd July 1974. I never signed any legal documents or adoption papers.
If anyone reading this can throw light on her whereabouts I would be so happy
I greatly appreciate Long Lost Famiies kind assistance with this delicate matter in finding my dear and precious daughter. Sincerely. Mrs Carol Gagnon
